How can I help prepare my client’s (or my) house/property for a real estate photo shoot?

Your property will really benefit from being neat and clean before the photo shoot.  Make sure items lying around are put away, and be on the lookout for cables (such a hair dryer electrical cords) are neatly tucked away from view.  Remember, the photographer is focusing on a number of things, lighting, layout, etc. and might be able to pick up obvious distractions, but it makes it much easier if the owner prepares the house beforehand.  For a more detailed list on how to prepare your house before a real estate photoshoot, please see this link.

Does Pretoria Real Estate Photography charge travel cost?

It depends on the location of the property relative to Midstream Estate. For properties more then 30 minutes drive from Midstream, a travel fee will be charged, but this will be included in your quote.

How long does it take to take real estate photos of my house?

It takes about an hour to two hours (excluding travel time) to photograph an average house, but it will obviously depend on the size of the house, and specific requirements from the owner. After taking the photos of your property, it takes another three to six hours to download, edit and send your real estate / house photos.

Who owns the real estate photos, in other words, who retains the copyright of the real estate photos?

Pretoria Real Estate Photography retains the copyrights of the images, which is standard practice in the photography industry. You purchase a single use, non-transferable, non-exclusive image license. For real estate agents that image license is good for the duration of your listing and expires once the listing is sold, canceled or reassigned to another agent. For all others the license does not expire. This is a non-transferable license, meaning you, as the purchaser (or licensee), may not sell, give or loan the photos to any other party. You may use them for your marketing and promotional needs however.

Do I really need Professional Photos, taken by someone like Pretoria Real Estate Photography?

One of the most powerful tools you have when marketing a home are the photos. No matter how fabulous the home is, it won’t sell if no one is coming to see it. Good listing photos get people to the home. Studies show you have 2 seconds to impress an online buyer. Are you making the best use of those 2 seconds with a cell phone or point-and-shoot camera? Today’s technologically savvy clients not only appreciate nice photos, they expect them. Buyers will compare one house to another by it’s photos. If it looks good on-line, buyers will come out see it. Professionally Photographed homes sell faster and for more money compared to homes that are not.

How do I receive the photos after you finish? When do I get them?

When the photos are ready, we will email you a link to the online folder (usually Dropbox) which contains your photos. You can download them at your convenience. I will have them ready for you 1-2 business days after the shoot. If there are special instructions, or special editing, that may take more time, but I will will keep you updated on the progress.
